Give More. Get 50% Back.

It Sounds Too Good to Be True. But It's Real.

When you give $1,000 or more to Impact South County, the state gives you back 50% of your donation as a tax credit. In effect, the Commonwealth matches your gift, so your dollars go twice as far.

At first I thought the CITC Program was too good to be true! After making my first qualifying donation and receiving the tax credit, I doubled my donation the next year; a win-win for a great cause!

What is the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC)?

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts launched the CITC program in 2012 to encourage people to donate to community development organizations such as the Impact South County.

Through the CITC program, if you contribute $1,000 or more to Impact South County, you will receive a state tax credit (rebate) equal to 50% of your donation — even if you don’t have any income tax. The credit reduces your state tax liability while directly benefiting local projects.

This credit is available to individuals, businesses, non-profits, and out-of-state residents. CITC donations can be designated toward a specific project, and you can make multiple contributions through the program.

Are you a returning CITC donor?

How the CITC program works:

  • Make a donation of $1,000 or more to Impact South County online or by sending a check to Impact South County, PO Box 733, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
  • Impact South County creates an online account in Massachusetts’ CITC system. You will receive an email to log in.
  • Fill out a quick and easy online form that takes approximately 5-8 minutes.
  • Impact South County verifies your form.
  • 4 to 6 weeks after your submit your portion of the form, you’ll receive a CITC certificate to file with your state taxes.

If you are not an MA resident, you will receive a check for 50% of your donation after filing an non-resident income tax return.

Receive a considerable tax benefit while making a charitable investment.

As a CITC donor, you are providing essential, flexible funds for Impact South County to develop new programs, expand current services, and fill funding gaps. Join many other individuals, non-profits, and businesses taking advantage of this unique opportunity.
