Founded more than 38 years ago, Impact South County was created to address the growing need for low and middle-income housing and economic opportunity in South Berkshire County.
Since then, we have partnered with municipalities, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and residents to develop housing, support job creation, and strengthen community-based initiatives. Our work has evolved over time, but our commitment to local impact has remained constant.
Our staff brings experience, care, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve, managing complex development projects, supporting local businesses, and fostering partnerships that create lasting impact. Impact South County is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors with expertise in housing, finance, planning, and community leadership, providing governance, strategic direction, and oversight to ensure the organization remains mission-driven and financially responsible.
Impact South County is a Massachusetts Community Development Corporation (MACDC). Earning designation as an MACDC requires demonstrating the expertise, governance, and long-term community commitment needed to create lasting solutions in housing and economic development.
We collaborate with more than a dozen other western Mass CDCs to serve residents of the Commonwealth’s four western counties with the support of the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC). Our work depends on strong partnerships. We collaborate with municipalities, nonprofit organizations, financial institutions, developers, and community members who share a commitment to equitable development and regional stability.
