The Egremont Workforce Homeownership Initiative is an innovative housing project designed to expand access to homeownership for South Berkshire’s workforce while preserving long-term affordability. Located on North Egremont Plain Road, the project creates a new model that combines homeownership with additional rental housing to help make ownership more attainable for local families. Each duplex includes one three-bedroom owner-occupied home and one attached two-bedroom rental apartment, along with solar energy and energy-efficient design. The rental unit helps offset mortgage costs while long-term deed restrictions preserve affordability for future generations.
