With West Center Street Housing, the CDCSB will provide 69 units of affordable housing across three buildings on a 2-acre parcel in the Downtown Commercial Business District of Lee, Massachusetts, at 58 and 62 West Center Street and 95 and 105 Canal Street.

Located a five-minute walk from the primary restaurants, shops and amenities in downtown Lee and a three-minute walk from the Greyhound Bus Station and the Berkshire Regional Transit bus stop, the site is set in the Lee downtown central core and is a transitional point from the more commercial West Center Street to the more residential Canal block. With convenient regional transport in close proximity to the project site, residents will also have access to copious job opportunities and amenities both locally and throughout the Berkshires more broadly.

Once built, the project will be approximately 82,000 gross square feet, with 21 one-bedroom, 41 two-bedroom and 7 three-bedroom units serving households earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income as well as 1,549 square feet dedicated to ground floor retail or day care. The project will serve six households with a mental health diagnosis, referred by DMH as well as eight survivors of domestic violence who will be housed in family-sized units. Support services will be provided by DMH and the Elizabeth Freeman Center.
