Public Meeting: Major Milestone at the Former New England Log Homes Property

Public Meeting on Oct 20th About Major Milestone in Transformation of Burned Out New England Log Homes Property

Impact South County has reached a major milestone in transforming the former New England Log Homes property at 100 Bridge Street. After more than a decade of environmental cleanup, monitoring, and investment totaling over $3 million, the southern portion of the site now meets state requirements for a Partial Permanent Solution.

Once a contaminated industrial site and the scene of a major 2001 fire, the property is now home to 45 housing units. Recent findings confirm that groundwater in the southern portion meets state standards and that the area, including the Bentley Apartments, poses No Significant Risk for its intended uses with protections in place. Investigation of the northern parcels will continue.

Join us to learn about the site’s history, the work completed so far, and what comes next.

Representatives from Impact South County and the project’s environmental team will be on hand to answer questions.
